A music style molded from metal, funk, punk, pop and old-fashioned rock. A hunger born from inspiration, hope, and fate. We welcome you to THANATOPSIS : Heavy-Rock Chicago Style ! THANATOPSIS was created in 1996 by front-man Kristian Lee . For four years THANATOPSIS molded and shaped their craft and finally in 2000, a new breed was born and the foundation was set. Doug Francis, Chris Martorelli , and Mike Moffit along side of Kristian Lee developed a style of music that was fresh and alive to bring to the scene. They combined the top genres into one style of music that can only be heard in their catalog of songs. With such shows as the Q101 Jamboree Post Party, 95.1 WIIL ROCK Bandemodium, and many shows at the popular venues such as 602 North, Oasis One-Sixty, and O'Malley's, THANATOPSIS has started to build a strong loyal following. Their hard work and dedication paid off when they were awarded the title of ‘Best Heavy-Rock Band 2002' from Suburban Nitelife Magazine. 2005 is already starting to take shape as the strongest year for THANATOPSIS . Working with Sky Management and StarrTraxx Records, who has worked with artists such as Christian Aguilera and Mary J. Blige, THANATOPSIS will be releasing their first full-length CD. Sky Management will also help open doors for THANATOPSIS throughout the music industry. Along with the highly anticipated CD, THANATOPSIS will be releasing a whole line of merchandise for their fans. “…Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night; Scourged to his dungeon, but sustain'd and sooth'd; By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave; Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch; About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.” As of November 10, 2004
